December 18, 2014 - On December 18, 2014, the SEC approved the issuance of proposed amendments to revise the rules related to the thresholds for registration, termination of registration, and suspension of reporting as mandated by the JOBS Act. Read more here.
October 21, 2014 - The SEC approved the PCAOB’s new auditing standards that expand audit procedures required to be performed with respect to related party transactions, significant unusual transactions, and a company’s financial relationships and transactions with its executive officers (including executive compensation). The new and amended standards will become effective for audits of financial statements for fiscal years beginning on and after December 15, 2014. Read more here.
September 22, 2014 - SEC announced an award of more than $30 million to a whistleblower which is the largest award made by the SEC's whistleblower program to date. Read more here.

April 10, 2013 - The Securities and Exchange Commission has announced that Mary Jo White was sworn in as the 31st Chair of the SEC.
April 2, 2013 - The SEC has issued a report that makes clear that companies can use social media outlets to announce key information in compliance with Regulation Fair Disclosure (Regulation FD) so long as investors have been alerted about which social media will be used to disseminate such information.
